What is SheConnects®?
SheConnects® is a monthly opportunity for women in business to come together. Our members come from all walks of the business world and across all ages.
All we ask is that you are open-minded, willing to share your experiences and genuinely interested in connecting with other like-minded professional women.
Each month we offer opportunities to network as well as learn about business, leadership and personal development topics.
This month – In Conversation With…
This month at SheConnects® we’re introducing a new feature – ‘In Conversation With’, an occasional series of thought-provoking conversations between SheConnects® founder & host, Rebecca Maxwell and interesting women with something to say from all walks of business life.
Our first ‘In Conversation With…’ event features Davida Perry, Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Schwartz, Perry & Heller, a boutique law firm focusing exclusively on representing individuals in all areas of employment law, in particular discrimination & sexual harassment cases.
Davida & Rebecca will be chatting about some of the experiences sadly still happening for women in the world of work, what we can do about it if we experience it ourselves, and how we can better allies when see others in that position. They’ll be exploring what’s changed in employment practice – for better and worse – as a result of the pandemic, and also looking at how we can all be better, fairer, more human employers.
As a woman in business herself, Davida will share stories of what’s it’s been like for her and what she’s learned along the way about visibility, respect & recognition.

She has co-authored numerous articles & publications for the New York State Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association & the Practicing Law Institute, and also lectures on employment law, including with Lawline & the National Law Institute.

What’s it like at an event?
Our events are always interactive – having fun is definitely part of the plan!
We usually start and finish the evening with open networking with a shared learning experience taking up the time in the middle – usually an interactive workshop focusing on learning skills that can help us in our day to day lives, in work and outside.
If you’ve been before, you know what to expect. If it’s your first time, don’t worry – it’s friendly and fun – nothing too heavy but still the opportunity to learn some cool stuff and meet some great people.
SheConnects® is a free event however we are offering the opportunity for members to ‘give back’ by making a donation to two great causes when they buy a ticket.
- Read718 Children’s Literacy project in Brooklyn, providing support for children needing to improve their reading, and
- Lifeline Grocery Packages in Western Queens, providing weekly food deliveries for families disproportionately affected by COVID-19
In 2020, we raised $400 through our donations. Let’s smash that in 2021.
Together we can have an impact. Thank you.
