Event Details

In light of the current circumstances, we are swapping SheConnects to a Virtual Event this month.

We will still have the same opportunity to hear & engage with great content, meet and connect with other amazing women – and have some fun at the same time.

What is SheConnects?

SheConnects is a monthly opportunity for women in business to come together.  Our members come from all walks of the business world and across all ages.

All we ask is that you are open-minded, willing to share your experiences and genuinely interested in connecting with other like-minded professional women.

Each month we offer opportunities to network as well as learn about business, leadership and personal development topics.

What’s it like at an event?

Our events are always interactive – having fun is definitely part of the plan!

If you’ve been before, you know what to expect. If it’s your first time, don’t worry – it’s friendly and fun – nothing too heavy but still the opportunity to learn some cool stuff and meet some great people.

We usually start and finish the evening with open networking with a shared learning experience taking up the time in the middle – usually an interactive workshop focusing on learning skills that can help us in our day to day lives, in work and outside.

***Format for This Month***

This month, after time for introductions, we’ll dive straight into the workshop content – which will include opportunities to discuss what we’re hearing in smaller groups as well as whole group activities.

Plus, there will be some time at the end to request 1-1 or small group conversation opportunities.

This month we’re looking at Stereotypes & Unconscious Bias – and what we can do to beat them

Join us as we hear from researcher and student activist, Megan Gole as she shares her research on gender stereotypes & language – and the unconscious bias it breeds. Drawing on her work exploring the different words typically used to describe women and men (doing the exact same thing!), Megan has come up with a series of recommendations she believes can shift the needle when it comes to unconscious bias.

We’ll be unpacking those recommendations and looking at what we can all do on an every day level to change our workplace cultures today and for the young women who come after us.

SheConnects is a free event however we are offering the opportunity for members to ‘give back’ by making a donation to two great causes when they buy a ticket.

Together we can have an impact. Thank you.

To attend at no charge, use coupon code NODONATION at checkout.

SheConnects events are open to any woman in business interested in learning and sharing with other like-minded individuals as part of our growing community.

The virtual doors will open at 6.15pm with the workshop starting promptly at 6.30pm.

Come along early to mix with the other members of the SheConnects community.
