What is SheConnects®?
SheConnects® is a monthly opportunity for women in business to come together. Our members come from all walks of the business world and across all ages.
All we ask is that you are open-minded, willing to share your experiences and genuinely interested in connecting with other like-minded professional women.
Each month we offer opportunities to network as well as learn about business, leadership and personal development topics.
This month – The New Normal is Almost Here, Adapting to the Hybrid Work Model
This month we’re joined by Stephanie Shalofsky, Organizing Consultant & Certified Virtual Professional Organizer™ to explore what moving to the New Normal might mean in terms of how we organize our workspaces.
In the coming months, more offices will start to open their doors. However, there won’t be a tidal wave of workers returning to their desks full time.
As working from home worked and many employees wish to continue to have this option, the Hybrid Work Model will be the new norm.
It’s going to be different from not just the lasts 12 months, but also what we’ve dealt with before. Stephanie will guide us through action we can take now so we’ll be ready & raring to go.
Takeaways from Stephanie’s session will include tips for:
1. Portability as your key to success. Setting up essential tools and systems to seamlessly support moving between your two work locations will be a must.
2. Building the systems and structure in your home office so that it can be the command center that you need. Create a checklist for ensuring that your home workspace is ready.
3. Managing a split work week that requires a shift in how you manage your tasks and time. Making simple processes for doing this part of your daily routine will be necessary.
Stephanie Shalofsky, founder of The Organizing Zone, specializes in working with small companies & individuals to gain control over their environment so that they can achieve their goals.
Stephanie brings to her work the discipline, professionalism and project management skills that comes from years of corporate employment. She combines that with her impressive leadership and organizing credentials including work on the national committees in NAPO (National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals) and within its New York chapter where she served as President for 2 years. This combined with her training as both a Certified Virtual Professional Organizer™ and Certified Productive Environment Specialist as well as her non-judgmental and empathetic style enable her to create highly functional and organized spaces for her clients.
The event is hosted by Rebecca Maxwell, Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer & Principal Consultant with Asentiv New York, a business strategy & leadership training firm based in New York.
With 25 years in operational, strategic & C-Suite leadership positions, Rebecca has spent her life managing, developing & leading teams & organizations to find focus, set priorities, design strategies & make decisions. Her skill is building capacity within teams for analysis, insight & forward planning. She works with clients as diverse as attorneys, finance professionals, technology businesses & food manufacturers to create their own playbooks for success – translating vision into action with route maps showing a clear way forward yet with the flexibility to adapt to the reality of an ever-changing external environment.
What’s it like at an event?
Our events are always interactive – having fun is definitely part of the plan!
We usually start and finish the evening with open networking with a shared learning experience taking up the time in the middle – usually an interactive workshop focusing on learning skills that can help us in our day to day lives, in work and outside.
If you’ve been before, you know what to expect. If it’s your first time, don’t worry – it’s friendly and fun – nothing too heavy but still the opportunity to learn some cool stuff and meet some great people.
SheConnects® is a free event however we are offering the opportunity for members to ‘give back’ by making a donation to two great causes when they buy a ticket.
- Read718 Children’s Literacy project in Brooklyn, providing support for children needing to improve their reading, and
- Lifeline Grocery Packages in Western Queens, providing weekly food deliveries for families disproportionately affected by COVID-19
In 2020, we raised $400 through our donations. Let’s smash that in 2021.
Together we can have an impact. Thank you.
To attend at no charge, use coupon code NODONATION at checkout.
