Asentiv has facilitated similar events all over the world with different themes. The common thread though is building relationships.
This is not your regular networking event – it’s an opportunity to grow relationships and build your network, through conversation and genuine connections.
The room will be full of great quality people. We keep numbers deliberately limited to make sure that happens. Table hosts will be there to keep the conversation going and make sure that everyone’s time is well spent.
Chaat is a mixture of delicious dishes from South Asia. Spiced but not too hot. If your palate prefers plainer food – we have that covered too.
This is about getting to know like minded business folks. Whether you’re a business owner, senior manager or in business development, the participants of Chat over Chaat™ all value business relationships and what they bring – both professionally and personally.
Coming from Scotland, Indian food is ubiquitous. Yes, you can even get Haggis Pakora! The depth and range of choice is huge. When we landed in New York, the search began. We sought out the best restaurants in NYC to see if it was possible here.
In Scotland and the rest of the UK – Curry Clubs are standard as networking events. They are more relaxed business connection events.
And it’s spreading. I have a colleague from the UK who started a club in Cais Cais near Lisbon. It has 200+ members who have created a great business club. Why not NYC?
Informal & professional. Conversations are lightly guided. There is no pitching or selling. Do participants end up buying or working with each other? Of course they do.
It’s organic and real. It happens quickly when you get to know each other.
The official time is 6pm-8pm. However – and this is the strange thing for a networking event in NYC – at Chat over Chaat™, a large number of people arrive early and leave late!
That only happens when the conversation is good and the time is well spent.
Pondicheri is a genuinely incredible restaurant – the food, drinks and service are exceptional. We have a dedicated area in the restaurant (which is getting bigger!).
Pop in for a coffee if you want to check it out first.

Crystal Lee – Crystal is VP of Recruitment for Search Masters, specializing in placements for the world of Accounting, HR, Real Estate Development and Legal. Prior to becoming a full-time recruiter, Crystal had been in public accounting for over 12 years. As a Tax Manager she focused on helping high net worth individuals with their compliance and tax planning needs while heavily participating in firm growth via recruiting from on-campus recruiting all the way to experienced hires. Crystal’s love for recruiting started with her days at University of San Francisco where she worked in HR for four years. After seeing that she was responsible for having hired nearly 30% of the staff at her last firm, she realized she had a knack for it and went after her passion of recruiting full-time.

Michele Berdinis – Michele is the founder, President and Senior Attorney of Beeline Legal. She spent 18 years representing startups from formation to acquisition. During her years of practice she was a frequent speaker on trademarks and lots of other stuff her clients needed to know. She’s had a blast finally doing her own startup and putting almost two decades of trademark practice into a decision tree for the Beeline website. Michele thinks some lawyers aren’t always great about knowing how to talk to clients. Clients want help, but some lawyers are too cautious or too busy to give the advice people need. Michele believes a lawyer should just tell clients what’s up and then help them find a solution that works for them. Beeline is Michele’s way to do that for trademarks.
Rachna Hukmani – Rachna is the owner and founder of Whiskey Stories, a Michelin Guide recommended luxury whiskey tasting multisensory immersive company where premium/high end whiskies are paired with music, comedy, blindfolds (Whiskey In the Dark) , gourmet chef food courses, whiskey based colognes and more. Rachna has been working with whisk(e)y & designing new whiskies for more than a decade, has helped build The Macallan Double Cask, Highland Park Magnus, Noble Oak Bourbon and more. Rachna also recently launched first of its kind whiskey based colognes which were featured on Bloomberg News. She has been named the first South Asian woman to open her own whiskey company.
